We made it!

G'day Mates!
I am starting this blog because,  as many of you know, my husband accepted a position in Brisbane, Australia and today is our official first day as expatriates down under. We are extremely excited for this opportunity and can't wait to get settled in. This move has actually provided many firsts for both of us. Two weeks ago I made the bitter sweet decision of resigning from my position at Citizens. I had never left a job before with such a bitter sweet feeling. Joe and I also bought our first pair of one-way tickets. A couple times during our trip over, we started to discuss our seat selections for our return flight only to remind ourselves that we do not need a return flight. We are both still getting used to the sound of that. This is also the first time we have ever moved somewhere with out a place to live and with out personal cell phones. I thought it would be more difficult to not have a phone but it has honestly been nice to not have the distraction of Facebook or Instagram. Not having access to social media has put me behind on updates so below are a few pictures from the last week.

Grace wore my sunglasses on our way back to the apartment in Joe's truck. She wanted to stay the night with us before we moved and of course I couldn't say no. We had a great time hanging out and reading books together.

Grace started 1st grade in style. Please notice Max photo bombing in the background. He is staying with my sister while we are in Australia. I feel very blessed to be able to leave him  in such a great home with amazing people.

Taking Grace to school with Lincoln eating Fruit Loops. I felt like I could not get enough
 of these two!

Dinner with family and friends the night before our flights. It was really great to see everyone and feel the support they provided.
One last night sleeping with Max. I am going to miss snuggling with him but I know Grace and Lincoln will more than make of up for my absence

My sister and Dad are so important to me. Having their support has given me the strength to push forward and follow what Joe and I believe to be God's plan.

Joe and I fit out entire lives into 3 suite cases a piece. I was personally proud of myself for this!

Tomorrow we have 5 apartment inspections and are hoping to find a place that we can call home for the next few years. With a 14 hour time difference, we have the worst jet lag imaginable and are trying to catch up before our busy day ahead. I will make sure to keep you all updated as much as possible. I know that Joe and I were not able to see everyone before leaving so please keep in touch via Facebook. We are able to send and receive those messages easily and would love to hear from you all anytime.

Until then...Cheers! :)
